New
Because i do not necessarily see myself as an artist with a particular "style" this section concentrates on the work i am doing at the moment whatever that work may be. At the present that includes both painting and sculpture and is heavily influenced by fatherhood , family life and my son's toys See All New Image
Landscapes
I have always painted the immediate world around me and the landscapes in which I live. At the moment I live in the countryside and so have for the last four years endeavoured to bring to life the beautiful scenery of the south downs. In particular the magical transformation that happens every spring in the woodlands around my home. Having come from London I was unaware that there were such things as bluebell woods but since my discovery of them they have been a constant source of artistic inspiration. See All Landscapes Image
Worm
Every body should have an alter ego, another other with which we explore ourselves, the themes of our life and the world around us. The worm is mine and with him I disrespect, deride and lampoon the seriousness of what I see around me. See All Worm Image
Box
I painted the box paintings between 2000 and 2005 and in these paintings I tried to work out a new format for the portrait, a format which rather than try to relax the sitter I worked to make the sitter perform. By placing the sitter in a box with a glass screen over the top I viewed him or her from above and asked that they react as they felt appropriate and tried to paint the results. See All Box Image
Drawing
I have always been a lover of automatic drawing and find it a very useful tool to explore real form and release an otherwise stiff drawing hand. From this my paintings of animals developed and I see them as fun lightweight studies of our furry friends. See All Drawing Image
