The unsolicited creation of an image, a thought, a sound, and the urge to convey that in an understandable format to our fellow humans is to me one of the primal urges of mankind.

Since the first cave paintings, created deep in the deep bowels of the earth, the desire to understand the world around us by recreating it in two dimensions has allowed people to express so much more than what we see.

In copying and displaying things as we think we see them the realisation of the difference in peoples’ perception has given rise to a vast array of visual stories.

As a painter I try to paint my story, my truth – in whatever visual style fits that story.
